JS „Lauku Avīze” has been founded in 1987. During the years of its operation an enterprise has always occupied the leading position between the largest national publishing houses in Latvia.
JS „Lauku Avīze” issues daily „Latvijas Avīze” (Newspaper of Latvia) and weekly magazines „Mājas Viesis” (The Guest at Home) and „Praktiskais Latvietis” (Practical Latvian), books and special newspapers „Tematiskās Avīzes” (Thematic Newspapers). „Praktiskais Latvietis” (Practical Latvian) is a weekly edition. The content is devoted to different practical information responding to reader’s questions: advices of lawyers, financial and economic experts, practical information about the gardening, cooking, design, interior as well as advices in health, medicine and pharmaceuticals. The aforementioned issues provide a good feedback to the readers. The average circulation in 2007 is 26 000 copies covering maximum audience of 132 000 people.
„Tematiskās Avīzes” (Thematic Newspapers) is a monthly edition. Each of the Thematical Newspapers is devoted to specific subject: flowers, decorative shrub, planning of garden, therapy of plants, bathhouses, astrology, knitting etc. „Tematiskās Avīzes” contain a lot of useful and practical gnostic information. There are about 70 -80 photographs in every edition. Average circulation 17 000.
